Michael Poulos, President/CEO, Michigan First Credit Union
In January of 2009 a jury returned a verdict against Cumis Insurance Society in favor of Michigan First Credit Union for over five million dollars. The jury agreed that Cumis breached its insurance contract and should have paid our credit union’s faithful performance claim. With interest and penalties under Michigan’s Unfair Trade Practices Act, the final judgment was over 7.9 million dollars. Chuck Holzman was instrumental in the initial investigation of the claim and all the way through trial. Holzman Law brought all the right people to the table to ensure victory. I strongly recommend their law firm to any credit union facing adversity with a bond carrier or other insurance provider. Bond carriers and insurance companies take their involvement in any claim very seriously.
